Are you pushing religion?
The aim of our station ain’t manipulation
Why on earth have we used the Ten Commandments for our code of conduct, and why did we bring God into our mission statement?
We’re painfully aware of all the hate spam being sent by religious pretenders. They certainly don’t hold to our motto of respect.
Despite that, we still need a code of conduct for this website. And we’d rather use one that actually has a foundation that’s firmer than our own whims. The Ten Commandments are perfect because they have stood the test of time, they are used by the largest number of people, and most importantly, they are backed by Someone who is bigger than we are.
As for pushing religion – no, that’s not the purpose of this website. We’re here to provide a service. We want to provide a good service. And we want to do it well. A big reason we want to do a good job is precisely because we do hold to those same Ten Commandments.
At the end of the day, who we are and what we believe is bound to come out in what we do. And it might as well be the good stuff that comes out.
