The Ten Commandments
Code of conduct – why reinvent the wheel?

During the last century, man’s creative energies have dramatically changed the world of technology. But those creative energies were given to us by the God who created us. And although the world changes, His moral character remains constant, and His requirements of us continue to apply to all races of mankind.
These are His words to the intelligent species he created:
- You shall have no other gods before me.
- You shall not make an image of anything in order to worship it because I, the Lord your God, am jealous for my reputation and for how I am worshipped; for I punish those who hate me, but love those who keep my commandments.
- You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
- Set aside the day of rest by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh is a day of rest to the Lord your God. On it, you shall not do any work; neither you nor any within your control. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. So the Lord blessed the day of rest and set it aside to be holy.
- Honour your father and your mother, so that your days may be long and that it may go well with you.
- You shall not murder.
- You shall not commit adultery.
- You shall not steal.
- You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.
- You shall not covet your neighbour’s house, nor his wife, nor any of his other possessions.
