Zope Object Database (ZODB) is an awesome piece of software. It include for a load-balancing replication service called ZEO but it lacks a efficient master replication service. The bottleneck will always be the single master server.
This project aims to use the spread toolkit to build a multi-master replication service using the virtual synchrony protocol.
Features:
- Loosely coupled master servers (which can be in remote location)
- Low latency transaction commits using virtual synchrony
- No two phase commits
- Configurable RAM-based write queue for high write loads (needs more research).
- Data partition with multiple partition over multiple masters to handle high write loads.
