gnome kde mumbleProject details
Mumble has recently added DBus support for opening URLs, meaning if one process is running, you can simply run
mumble mumble://user@server:port /channel/path
and it will use dbus to tell the running instance to connect to that server.
Mumble also recently added support for multiple server instances per process for murmur, this too controlled through DBus.
We need:
-
Proper registration of the “mumble” protocol for Gnome and KDE, which should launch mumble with the URL as a parameter.
-
This registration included in the Ubuntu packages.
-
A man page for both mumble and murmur for the packages.
-
Verification (and correction) so the packages follow all necesarry file system standards.
-
Whatever else is necesarry to make the package pass “lintian” without ANY complaints.
-
If possible, a source package that compiles on both Debian Lenny and Ubuntu Gutsty Gibbon.
-
The changes uploaded as a patch on sourceforge.

In case you’re wondering, this is a fully open project. Anyone can offer quotes, and I really hope someone can do it cheaper than me. Please?
